But her sister Solange Knowles won’t be dishing out any do-this, don’t-do-that words of wisdom (even though, as the mother of a seven-year-old, she’s probably qualified and has some tips up her sleeve!).

Solange recently admitted, “I think it’s important for every mother to find their own way. I think it’s actually the most annoying thing when you’re a new mom and you’re getting so much advice from other mothers! You really just have to feel it out for yourself. But she’s my best friend and we talk at least every other day.”

Indeed, Beyonce’s sister makes a good, if not interesting, point. Some new moms and even mothers-to-be may find scads of often-conflicting opinions and unsolicited suggestions to be irritating at best and completely overwhelming at worst. What works for one mama may not be the right thing for another. Bey and Ja- Z certainly seem to be marching to the beat of their own parenting drum and not worrying what others think, starting with their big, controversial decision to release adorable photos of Blue Ivy on a Tumblr blog, rather than selling them to a glossy magazine, as stars are frequently known to do, or even keeping the pics private.

While Solange Knowles may shy away from offering advice, even to her sister, she had no qualms about gushing about Beyonce’s baby. As OK Magazine reports, she said, “I think babies in general are so lovable and my sister’s baby, Blue, is so beautiful. She is really a beautiful little baby. It’s really special to have a niece because I have a son, so I get to have a little girl, too.”

Even with a newborn baby to look after, she has started painting, reports thesun.co.uk.

Beyonce took up the hobby because her sister Solange is a budding artist and gave her a few pointers.

“Solange took painting lessons while living in Paris last year and has passed on tips to Beyonce and she’s really taken to it. While her baby Blue Ivy is sleeping, she’s been getting the brushes out. It’s a way for her to unwind,” a source said.

“She has already completed four canvases, including one of husband Jay-Z holding their daughter,” the source added.

The lyrics guy, who wrote B’s hit “Halo,” told Billboard that there are two projects on the go and that he has just started talking to the new mama about future recordings. “The conversations about her next album literally just started and there (are) two projects happening.” Tedder — who is also the frontman for OneRepublic — has been sending Beyonce songs about parenthood following the birth of Blue Ivy Carter, her first child with Jay-Z.

She recalled meeting the singer for the first time 15 years ago, just as she was breaking into the industry herself.

“The loss of Whitney Houston is painful. I remember meeting Whitney for the first time when I was 15. She was the ultimate legend. The ultimate woman. Not only was she confident, poised, stunningly beautiful and intelligent, but she was sincere and kind,” she said in a statement to MTV News. “She took the time to make everyone feel like they were very important to her.”

Beyoncé continued in the statement that Houston’s killer vocal abilities helped make her the superstar she was. “I, like every singer, always wanted to be just like her. Her voice was perfect. Strong but soothing. Soulful and classic. Her vibrato, her cadence, her control. So many of my life’s memories are attached to a Whitney Houston song,” she said. “She is our queen and she opened doors and provided a blueprint for all of us. God bless her.”

Her statement comes on the same day that Houston will be remembered at the 2012 Grammy Awards. B’s “Dreamgirls” co-star Jennifer Hudson will lead the Grammy tribute to the late icon, along with Houston’s longtime friend and collaborator, Chaka Khan.

She joins a long list of divas who have recalled Houston’s undeniable influence on their own careers, including Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Christina Aguilera.

“Heartbroken and in tears over the shocking death of my friend, the incomparable Ms. Whitney Houston,” Mariah Carey wrote about the loss of Houston, who was found dead in her Los Angeles hotel on Saturday.”My heartfelt condolences to Whitney’s family and to all her millions of fans throughout the world. She will never be forgotten as one of the greatest voices to ever grace the earth.”

It’s not only pop divas who are recounting her influence, but also producers from the world of EDM. “She had the swagger and she had the voice,” Diplo told MTV News during our pre-show live stream. “I was listening to a bunch of records last night, and I was amazed at how deeply I felt about her records as a child.”
