Take out the tissues before you watch this beautiful video from Beyoncé. The star pairs her song “I Was There” with emotional footage of people remembering the horrific attacks of 9/11/01. Today was a moving day for many as the country and world commemorated the tenth anniversary of 9/11.
Perez Hilton reports on the video saying “Another stunning tribute to all of the lives lost ten years ago today on September 11th, 2001 – this one from Beyoncé, with her heartfelt, absolutely stunning song I Was There.” What makes this video so special and unique is that there is no footage of the twin towers falling or of any of the tragedy. Instead, Beyoncé focuses on the grief taking place and the images of loved ones honoring the fallen. Her lyrics are very powerful as she sings “I was here, I lived, I loved.” Also not in the video – Beyoncé. She really leaves all the images to the victims of 9/11.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z are proud New Yorkers. Just yesterday they were seen out for lunch, loving their home town city. Other stars are also showing their support today. Even the youth like Justin Bieber are sharing their thoughts with fans. It’s wonderful to see the outpouring of love from everyone.
