Beyonce is due to perform in Glastonbury but arrived two weeks early because she is apparently nervous about her performance. She is due to be the closing act at the music festival on June 26th but according to sources, she has booked the Pyramid Stage so she can practice on the same set as her performance.
The Glastonbury Festival was headlined by Beyonce’s husband Jay Z in 2008 and he is rumored to be in London with her, helping with her set. Kanye West is also reportedly with the duo as he is scheduled to perform with them. Beyonce’s set is said to be full of special effects including pyrotechnics to ensure her show is unforgettable. She is also practicing her set with the backup dancers, singers and crew that will be sharing the spotlight with her. She hopes that all the practicing makes perfect.
Beyonce was the June cover for Essence Magazine and told them “This really is the biggest festival in the world and I cannot wait to perform there. Everyone who attends is really appreciative of music and is in such a good mood that entire weekend. I’m pumped just thinking about that huge audience and soaking up their energy.”
Other groups that are scheduled to take the stage include U2 and Coldplay. Tickets are already sold out.
Sources say the otherwise confident singer is hoping to top her husband’s performance from 2008. He was a huge hit with the crowd and she wants her performance to be rememberable.
Sources say that Simon Cowell, from American Idol fame, has been trying desperately to get Lady B on his show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. Beyonce is turning down any offers until she has finished the Glastonbury Festival.
“It is a shame – her Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland wanted her to come to the auditions which kicked off on Wednesday.”
Knowles has a new album dropping June 28th featuring her new single ‘Best Thing I Never Had’. The album ’4? is her fourth solo album since departing from Destiny’s Child. Its lead single, ‘Run the World’, was first premiered on American Idol. The song’s video was filmed in the Mojave Desert with an assortment of wild animals and over 200 dancers. The video can be seen on her website Beyonce Online.
